Agency

The Agency for Certification, Accreditation and Health Care Improvement of the Republic of Srpska was founded in 2002 in accordance with the RS Government’s Decree and started its functioning in February 2003. The Agency was supported through the Basic Health Project financed by World Bank credit.

Dario Dodos, Dr. Med. Specialist in general surgery, was appointed as acting director of the Agency by The RS Government's Decision No 04/1-012-2-1637/23, brought on May 11, 2023.

Besides the director and eleven employees, the Agency associates with more than 100 experts engaged when needed.

The Agency was founded as a republican governing institution and in 2010 changed its legal status and has continued functioning as a public institution.

The Agency jurisdiction is defined by the RS Law on Health Care published in RS Official Gazette 57/22 (download here).

The Agency performs professional, regulatory and development work related to the assessment and improvement of the quality and safety of health care, and other work in accordance with the law.
