Agency

The Agency for Certification, Accreditation and Health Care Improvement of the Republic of Srpska was founded in 2002 in accordance with the RS Government’s Decree and started its functioning in February 2003. The Agency was supported through the Basic Health Project financed by World Bank credit.

Bojan Lukic, BA in Economics was appointed as acting director of the Agency by The RS Government's Decision No 04/1-012-2-277/20, brought on February 6, 2020.

Besides the director and nine employees, the Agency associates with more than 100 experts engaged when needed.

The Agency was founded as a republican governing institution and in 2010 changed its legal status and has continued functioning as a public institution.

The Agency jurisdiction is defined by the RS Law on Health Care published in RS Official Gazette 106/09 (download here) and by the RS Law on Amendments on the RS Law on Health Care published in RS Official Gazette 44/15 (download here) and includes:

1. Health care institutions certification,

2. Health care institutions accreditation, 

3. Monitoring and evaluation of quality indicators.
